Weekly Workouts & Summer Activities

SUMMER SCHEDULE

During the summer months, we do not hold regular workouts. Instead, we have special activities on selected Saturdays.  Activities in 2021 included axe throwing, bowling, Hope & Possibilities Race, kayaking,  lunch social, Abilities Expo, archery,  end-of-summer BBQ & pool party. 

 

REGULAR SCHEDULE

 

From September through May, we meet on Saturdays at 10:00am in Memorial Park to "run". 

 

"Running" to Achilles means any form of forward locomotion.  That means walking, running, swinging through crutches or wheeling. Each athlete is paired with at least one able-bodied volunteer, and they complete the workout together.  Each workout looks different depending on each person's goals
 

Races

Every few weeks during the regular season, Achilles Houston athletes and volunteers participate in local races.  We encourages participation at any level and will do our best to help everyone achieve their goals.  Achilles Houston will cover race registration fees for athletes for these races.

 

We highly encourage our athletes to participate in any other races, local or not. Just let us know, and we will assist you in participating.
