Weekly Workouts 


From September through May, we meet every* Saturday at 10:00am in Memorial Park to "run". 


"Running" to Achilles means any form of forward locomotion.  That means walking, running, swinging through crutches or wheeling. Each athlete is paired with at least one able-bodied volunteer, and they complete the workout together.  Each workout looks different depending on each person's goals.

During the summer months our weekly workouts are on weekday evenings, with special activities on selected Saturdays.  Activities have included kayaking, swimming, yoga, CrossFit, horseback riding, axe throwing, rock climbing, and more.  See this year's schedule to see what we are doing in 2019. 


Every few weeks during the regular season, especially in the spring, Achilles Houston athletes and volunteers participate in local races.  We encourages participation at any level and will do our best to help everyone achieve their goals.  Achilles will also cover all race fees for athletes.


In addition, any other races, local or not, that an athlete wants to participate in is highly encouraged.   Just let us know! 

Where can you find us?

We meet at Memorial Park on the south side of Memorial Drive, near the sand volleyball courts, near the handicapped parking.  (There is plenty of parking available.) The address for MetroLift or Uber is 7575 N Picnic Lane - this may map the Running Center - please ask the driver to drop-off near the intersection of North Picnic Ln & South Picnic Ln)
