Fall 2019

Achilles Regular Saturday Workouts take place at 10 am at the Achilles base in Memorial Park.  We are there every weekend, with the possible exception of race weekends and holidays or when the park is closed.  No Regular Workout on Race Days, unless otherwise noted. Our Spring Schedule starts in January; our Summer Schedule starts in June.  The posted schedule is subject to change.  Please check back from time to time to see updates.


As always, all workouts & activities/races are free.  We do ask that you RSVP for some activities (noted below) so we know in advance how many will be joining us.

  • Sat, Sept  7:  10 am. First regular Saturday workout of the Fall season

  • Sat, Sept 14: 10 am.  Regular workout; For those interested, combine workout with participating in the Adapted Cycling Clinic. 

    • Adaptive Adventures is having a free Adapted Cycling Clinic @ Memorial Park on Saturday starting at 9 am. Open to all AWD athletes and volunteers.  (Clinic is on Friday at the VA, Saturday at Memorial Park, and Monday at Planetary Cycles.)

  • Sat, Sept 21: 10 am.  Regular workout

  • Sat, Oct  5:   10 am. Regular workout

  • Sat, Oct 12: 7:30 am.  RACE DAY - BCM Wellness 5K  (& free kids 1K)

    • Who: Runners/walkers/wheelers & guides​​ (strollers & dogs on leash ok)

    • What: 5K put on by Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) med students to promote wellness in the community; free 1K for kids

    • Where: Starts & ends at BCM in the Med Center, 6550 Bertner Ave

    • When: Arrive before 7:30 am.  Kids 1K starts at 8 am, wheelers after that, then runners.

  • Sat, Oct 19: 10 am.  Regular workout
